TGIF right?
So, look, I don't expect or need comments all the time or anything, but sometimes the silence can be deafening. Like, some shit is going down in Cedar Falls and nary a peep from the gallery? lol. Makes me slightly uneasy. Oh wellz.
So today I'm posting a pretty racy one, so double disclaimer. We're going to re-visit
a character we haven't seen in a while, and these events sort of take place a few years back (you'll see), when Grey's probably 17 or 18 (He's 23-24 in "present" day Cedar Falls).
Hope you enjoy. I figure, hell, it's friday right? Why the fuck not?
Oh and on a writer's sidenote: I have come to conclusion that learning to spell, learning spelling, simply cannot be done after a certain age. There are words, I swear to God, that I TRY, I mean TRY to spell correctly everytime; I like, hold my breath after agonizing about whether this one's supposed to be I before E or are there two S' or where the fuck does that C go? And then, holding my breath and kinda squinty I press the spacebar and hope against hope that the angry red underscore won't materialize. Guess what? It always fucking does. And I was a pretty damned good speller as a kid. Like, a pro.
True story: I almost went to the city finals for the spelling bee, it was down to me and this one other kid and we were having this private little showdown with the VP to see which of us would represent the school, you know, and I lost. I choked on a pretty easy word for my grade level. Wanna know the word? You never forget the word you lose on, never. Anyway the word was: TALENT. Yup. TALENT. I spelled it T-A-L-A-N-T, too young to adequately grasp the phonetic conundrum of the schwa. Anyway I've never ever since forgotten how to spell Talent, so I guess at 4th grade we still have the capacity to learn spelling.
But now? No way. I try to commit my mistakes to memory, try to learn my own traps and pitfalls with words and nada. Nunca. I'm always fucked on the same handful of words.
Here's a current list of frequently misspelled words in my writing:
Neice (I'm not lying. I just misspelled it just now as I typed it for you. I think I'mma leave 'em all for you to see.)
Akward
aknowlege
persuit
exhasperated
rythm
allright
liqour
lucious
choclate
charachter (this one is embarrassing as a Master of Theatre Education)
diamond
its\it's: though I believe I just may have learnt this with Aaron's patient tutoring. In all fairness this one pretty much rapes logic and smashes all the rules of possessives, so my confusion was understandable. Its\It's is really nothing like the there\their\they're confusion, which boggles my mind. I mean we have all made slip-of-the-finger mistakes when typing quickly, but to really not COMPREHEND the difference? To really not grasp the concept? That's a different matter altogether.
Oh, and words I insist on making one word when spell-check refuses to recognize their union:
everytime
eachother
keyring
oneanother
spacebar
alot (fuck it, alot should be one word. it really should. I like, refuse to capitulate on this unless I mean to specifically refer to a lot of land, like a housing lot, or say in an auction I might want to say: 'I should like to bid on a lot of starwarsguys. because they are all bundled together in a lot!' but generally? alot suffices for our daily use. call the word congress and get this shit done. a lot separate is archaic. out moded.)
Oh christ the lists go on and on. I'm going to wrap this up and post the Threnody Aschere story (Check out the initial events of THE SUN DECK back in late april to see more of her. She also makes an appearance in Cater-Waiter :).
happy friday. I have a coffee date and hopefully a wine tasting and am looking forward to the weekend. I needs to clean this house again.

I find the archive list with all of the dates overwhelming and my eyes begin to cross. Is this negotiable at all? What do others say? This is not always how it has been...let's discuss this like rational adults and come up with an appropriate compromise. :)
Hey, I played around to try to fix that irritating archive business! Thank you for commenting! I love you!
i tots mean to post more, but usually we just chat about it instead. it's tough when i am left technology free ALL DAY LONG. bah.
